The New Year is fast approaching and as the clock counts down to midnight we’ve put together a cherry picked collection of our favorite places to kiss goodbye 2014. Whether you’re on the search for loud and debauched or laid back and low key, these NYE party destinations are guaranteed to kick off the New Year in style!

Hong Kong – China

Midnight is just seconds away and the whole of Times Square gazes upwards to watch the huge glittering ball make its descent. Nope, we’re not talking about New York. We’re referring to China’s hypnotizing Hong Kong, a city where the New Year’s Eve ball drop has also become an annual event. Book a room at the Butterfly on Morrison for stunning views over the harbor.

St. Petersburg – Russia

If you’re in the mood for a white winter book a trip to the enchanting city of St Petersburg. On December 31 locals rung up in their finest furs and ring in the New Year while watching fireworks light up the skies above the icy Neva River. The iconic Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood makes for a magical backdrop as St Petersburg launches hundreds of paper lanterns up into the night sky. Built in 1875, the opulent Grand Hotel Europe is an unforgettable splurge for those wanting to ring in 2015 in style.
